Supernova Sydney 2017 is a wrap

Last weekend the Southern Cross Garrison partnered with the Sandhawk Clan - Mandalorian Mercs, Rebel Legion Tython Base, Sons of Obiwan Saber Academy and Iconic Studio Creations for a weekend of fun at Supernova 2017.

Our Star Wars Zone, made up of costumes and props spanning the entire saga, was very popular with Supernova attendees. The Wampa, Chewbacca, Speeder Bike and Han Solo in Carbonite were crowd-pleasers also.

On Friday night we participated in a Guinness World Record attempt, hosted by Jango Fett himself, Temuera Morrison. While we fell short of the 801 record, we had a great time with all of the Star Wars fans that joined us in the attempt.

We were kept busy speaking with attendees interested in our costumes, fundraising activities and how to join.

Across the weekend, we raised $4389 with the proceedings being shared equally by the Black Dog Institute and the Central Coast Kids in Need.

We’d like to thank everyone that visited the display, donated to our charities, participated in the Guinness World Record attempt and shared their passion for Star Wars with us.
