Stormtrooper drives a tram in Newcastle for GISHWHES

The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES) is currently running and Newcastle GISHers got help from some Imperial friends.

gishwhes is a scavenger hunt where thousands of people across the world create weird art, go on adventures, solve riddles, meet new friends, push themselves and commit heartwarming acts of kindness and courage.

"No one talks about the fact that the destruction of the Death Star put thousands of Stormtroopers out of work. Luckily the Empire has a pretty robust social safety net and most of them have been retrained and placed in new jobs, the majority of which have been in the transportation sector. Let’s see a stormtrooper driving/flying a large passenger vehicle. Must be for mass transit, not just a car or a van. A subway, train, bus, ferry, plane, etc." ITEM #37

Scavenger hunt participants met at the Newcastle Maritime Museum and were joined by Hunter Hornet Squad Stormtrooper and Chris, the local tram operator of Newcastle's Famous Tram, the chosen method of mass public transportation.

"There were around 9 or 10 people, then we were joined by a few extras passing by, excited to see a Stormtrooper in public", mentioned Glen Fredericks, Squad Leader of the Hunter Hornets.

Scavenger hunters were able to take photos of the Stormtrooper behind the wheel of the tram to stake their claim of completing Item #37, worth 92 points.
