It's beginning to look a lot like Sithmas

Our troopers have been getting festive attending Christmas events across New South Wales and venturing into Victoria.

Albury Special Children's Christmas Party

At the end of November, some of our Canberra-based troopers travelled to Albury/Wodonga, to the children's Christmas party.

A lot of photos were posed for and a lot of high 5's were given. Santa made an appearance much to the excitement of all the kids, as did the caped crusader Batman.

Civic Park Christmas Carols

Last Friday evening, troopers were greeted by citizens and family's enjoying the night's Christmas carols at Civic Park in Newcastle.

The Star Wars characters, along with the public, enjoyed the nights activities such as live music, food stalls, and a music stall where both Jawas excitedly started playing the drums and tambourines, to an amused audience.

The group proved very popular with the family crowds, at one point 2 lines were formed as people patiently waited for photos with their galactic hereos.

Sithmas 2017 photos

Vader Claus and his helpers from the Hunter Hornet Squad gave Newcastle a unique treat with the Sithmas 2017 photo shoot.

With the help of the local Newcastle Community, The Empire Coffee Co & Southern Cross Garrison, the 501st Legion helped raise $1,203 towards the Black Dog Institute during the popular event.

Newcastle Toy Run

Established in 1978 with 20 bikes, the Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is an annual Community Fundraising Event that raises funds for disadvantaged families and provides toys for kids that would otherwise go without at Christmas.

The 2017 event saw ten thousand riders arrive at Wickham Park, many bikes decorated for the festive season and many riders wearing costumes (such as the Hulk, Buzz Lightyear, Gru and his Minions, and of course Santa). They were greated by a strong Imperial presence, ushering the vehicles into the park grounds.

The troop were popular with bystanders and riders alike, many rushing to us for photo opportunities and greeted us with smiles, waves, salutes and the occasional ride-by high-five.
